Trump made the declaration in a scorching letter sent to WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus on Monday. The US president later shared screen captures of his letter on Twitter.

“That is the reason it is my obligation, as President of the United States, to illuminate you that, if the World Health Organization doesn’t resolve to significant meaningful enhancements inside the following 30 days, I will make my transitory freeze of United States financing to the World Health Organization lasting and reevaluate our participation in the association,” Trump composed.

“I can’t permit American citizen dollars to keep on financing an association that, in its current state, is so unmistakably not serving American’s inclinations,” he included.

President Trump commented that the US as been in chats with the WHO “on the most proficient method to change the association,” without expounding on the measures.

In Monday’s letter, Trump said the “survey has affirmed huge numbers of the genuine concerns I raised a month ago and distinguished others that the World Health Organization ought to have tended to, particularly the World Health Organization’s disturbing absence of freedom from the People’s Republic of China.”
