Travel web site Tripadvisor has eliminated an insensitive evaluate of the Auschwitz Museum after initially saying it complied with its submission pointers.
The museum on the web site of the Nazi focus camp in Poland on Thursday tweeted that it had requested the Massachusetts-based journey web site to take down a evaluate wherein the author stated they went to Auschwitz to “test the chamber” and referred to as the positioning “fun for the family.”
More than 1 million individuals, most of them Jews, had been killed by the Nazis at Auschwitz throughout World War II.
According to the corporate, “it complies with their submission guidelines,” the tweet stated.

Tripadvisor later reversed course, eradicating the evaluate and banning the consumer who wrote it.
The museum then thanked Tripadvisor.
In a press release, the corporate stated it doesn’t tolerate discrimination and recurrently blocks or removes tens of millions of critiques that violate its pointers.
“In this case, our initial screening failed to identify this review as promoting intolerance. Through our escalation process, this review was removed. We always aim to get it right the first time and we apologize to the Auschwitz Memorial and Museum and the Jewish community-at-large for this initial miss,” the assertion stated.
