NEW DELHI: At least 5 safety personnel misplaced their lives and 10 others have been injured on Saturday throughout an encounter with Maoists in Chhattisgarh‘s Bijapur, reported PTI quoting officers.
The police mentioned that some Maoists have been additionally killed within the encounter which remains to be beneath approach.
The gunbattle broke out in Tarrem space when a joint crew of safety forces was out on an anti-Naxal operation, Chhattisgarh Director General of Police DM Awasthi informed PTI.
The personnel belonging to the CRPF‘s elite unit CoBRA (Commando Battalion for Resolute Action), the District Reserve Guard (DRG) and the Special Task Force (STF) have been concerned within the operation, he mentioned.
The encounter comes simply days after 5 CRPF jawans have been killed and a number of other injured in an IED blast triggered by Maoists in Narayanpur.
