NEW DELHI: Delhi’s Karkardooma courtroom on Tuesday prolonged the judicial custody of northeast Delhi violence accused together with Tahir Hussain, Umar Khalid, and others arrested below the stringent Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA), until February 16.
Additional Sessions Judge Amitabh Rawat prolonged the judicial custody of the arrested accused after they had been introduced earlier than the courtroom immediately, and listed the matter for additional listening to on February 16.
The courtroom in November 2020 had accepted the supplementary chargesheet and mentioned that there’s ample materials to proceed towards accused Khalid, Imam, and Khan for offences below provisions of the UAPA.
More than 750 circumstances had been registered over the northeast Delhi violence that came about in February final 12 months and claimed 53 lives.
So far, over 250 chargesheets have been filed within the violence-related circumstances during which 1,153 accused have been chargesheeted.
