NEW DELHI: The Election Commission of India on Thursday started Covid-19 vaccination drive for its officers and workers working at Nirvachan Sadan, Delhi.
Former chief election commissioner M S Gill took the primary shot of vaccine to mark the start of the drive.
As CEC Sunil Arora had acknowledged on the press convention on February 26 to announce polls in four states and one UT, he and election commissioners Sushil Chandra and Rajiv Kumar will get vaccinated solely after all of the officers and workers at Election Commission have benefitted from the vaccination programme.
All workers on poll duty for the upcoming meeting elections have been declared as ‘frontline workers’ and subsequently shall be vaccinated earlier than assuming their election duties. The CEC had on Friday acknowledged that the vaccination would encourage the ballot obligation officers to carry out their obligation with none concern of Covid.
A particular camp has been arrange at ECI with provision of docs, ambulance and so on.
