The Election Commission has transferred Bengal’s further chief electoral officer (CEO) Saibal Barman, joint CEO Anamika Majumdar, and deputy CEO Amitjyoti Bhattacharji. There are indications that extra transfers could also be on the playing cards, stories Saibal Gupta.
Sources stated the three have been “very experienced” in dealing with elections. Barman was in command of mannequin code of conduct and legislation and order. He had held workplace for practically 11 years.
Majumdar sorted EVMs and ballot employee coaching whereas Bhattacharji dealt with the media cell.“All the three officers were very experienced and transferring them just before the election will have an impact on its effective handling,” a senior official on the CEO’s workplace stated. Sources additionally stated all three officers can be “rehabilitated” after the polls.
