NEW DELHI: A bunch of authorized professionals, together with retired excessive courtroom judges, on Friday wrote an open letter to President Ram Nath Kovind to make sure that the Delhi police is allowed to work freely and as per the regulation within the toolkit case through which local weather activist Disha Ravi has been arrested.
“We are very agitated by the unsubstantiated allegations being introduced to the media as properly the general public typically via social media with regard to the arrest of Disha Ravi, a Bengaluru resident, by the Delhi Police,” stated the petition signed by 47 retired judges and administrative officers.
Former Chief Justice of Rajasthan excessive courtroom VK Kokje, former CJ of Delhi excessive courtroom Rajendra Menon, former Gujarat excessive courtroom CJ SM Soni are a few of the signatories who stated Disha has been arrested for allegedly being member of a bunch of conspirators that ready a toolkit to defame India in worldwide boards and incite anti-social and anti-national acts through the use of some farmer teams protesting on the outskirts of Delhi.
“However, a few immature individuals with vested interests are making attempts to magnify the legal action by police to hide their anti-national activities by making such baseless allegations and indulging in slander against the Delhi Police to demoralise them,” the group stated.
It appealed to the Centre to make sure that the Delhi Police is ready to do its investigation in a free and truthful method with none undue strain.
“Police should be allowed to bring to book all those rogue elements who have allowed themselves to be used by secessionist forces in India and abroad, trying to spread anarchy and provide intellectual cover to anti-national forces to serve their own selfish ends,” the group stated.
