BHUBANESWAR: Farmer chief Rakesh Tikait on Friday attended a ‘Chasi Mahapanchayat’ at Chandikhole in Jajpur district and mentioned the struggle in opposition to farm legal guidelines will proceed in all the nation.
He mentioned Panchayats and Mahapanchayats are being performed in several states and it will likely be held throughout the nation. “The Centre will certainly face the warmth of our motion. The authorities has to provide you with a legislation to ensure the minimal assist value (MSP) of agricultural produces. It has to withdraw the three farm legal guidelines,” he added.
While referring to the BJP-led authorities on the Centre, Tikait mentioned it’s the authorities of looters and it has to go. “If the government comes up with a law on MSP, nobody can purchase the agricultural produces below the MSP. Farmers of Odisha will get benefit out of this. Paddy farmers in Odisha are getting less price compared to their MSP, but it will not happen after the law for MSP comes,” he added.

Tikait mentioned he attended the farmer assembly in Odisha to place strain on the Centre. “I will come again if our organisation holds another meeting in Odisha. This fight will continue till our demands are met,” he added.
Thousands of farmers had attended the Chasi Mahapanchayat organised by Navnirman Krushak Sangathan (NKS), a member of the Samyukt Kisan Morcha. Farmer leaders together with Balbir Singh Rajewal, Gurnam Singh Chaduni, Yudhvir Singh and others addressed the farmers within the assembly.
The leaders mentioned they’re uniting the farmers of the nation to struggle in opposition to the Centre. “MSP will not be the problem of some states, however it’s the situation of all farmers of the nation. We are uniting the farmers on this situation. Recommendation of the Swaminathan Committee report on agriculture needs to be carried out in letter and spirit,” mentioned the farmer leaders.
