NEW DELHI: China on Friday gave honorary titles and first-class benefit citations to 4 troopers who misplaced their life through the Galwan conflict with India June 2020 whereas a colonel who was critically injured was conferred with an honorary title.
“Four Chinese soldiers, who were sacrificed in last June’s border conflict, were posthumously awarded honorary titles and first-class merit citations,” stated Chinese state media People’s Daily citing Central Military Commission.

“The Central Military Commission awarded Qi Fabao, the regimental commander from the PLA Xinjiang Military Command, the title of “Hero regimental commander for defending the border,” Chen Hongjun with “Hero to defend the border,” and awarded first-class merit to Chen Xiangrong, Xiao Siyuan and Wang Zhuoran,” reported Global Times.

The announcement marks the primary public admission by China of its casualties within the Galwan conflict at Line of Actual management (LAC).
