THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Ahead of the upcoming state meeting polls, the Kerala authorities on Wednesday determined to withdraw instances registered throughout Sabarimala and the anti-CAA protests within the state, a transfer which was welcomed by the opposition Congress.
In a cupboard assembly, chaired by chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan, it was determined to withdraw “cases that were not of a serious criminal nature”, state authorities sources instructed PTI.
Around 2,000 instances associated to Sabarimala agitation had been registered throughout numerous districts within the state throughout 2018- 19.
The Nair Service Society (NSS), a outstanding caste-based organisation within the state, which was within the forefront of the ‘namajapa yathra’ as a part of Sabarimala agitation had earlier demanded withdrawal of instances towards the protesters.
Leader of opposition and Senior Congress chief Ramesh Chennithala stated the transfer was a “wisdom that dawned late”.
