“The scarcity of medical oxygen has become the reason for the death of many patients in every part of the country against the fact that several projects for producing oxygen were still pending with the Union government for clearance and such an important need was not heeded by the Modi government,” Dr Dahiya alleged.
“As India battles a second wave of Covid and states go for lockdown, election rallies and the Kumbh Mela at Haridwar appear to have compromised efforts to curb the spread of the infection,” he argued.
“The impact of the pandemic is clearly visible across the country with bodies piling up in crematoriums and long queues of ambulances outside hospitals in almost every city of the country,” he added. “Even on the issue of farmers’ agitation against farm laws, PM Modi did not act in responsible manner and allowed huge gathering of farmers, without solving their issues, causing a serious threat of Covid spread,” added Dr Dahiya, who earlier additionally remained president of Punjab unit of IMA.
