Third wave can be avoided if we take strong measures

NEW DELHI: The authorities on Friday stated that India can stop the third wave of Covid-19 if sturdy measures are taken and pointers are successfully carried out on the state and native ranges.
“If we take strong measures, the third wave may not happen in all the places or indeed anywhere at all. It depends on how effectively the guidance is implemented at the local level, in the states, in districts and in the cities everywhere,” principal scientific advisor Okay VijayRaghavan stated at a media briefing.
The remarks come simply two days after he stated third wave of the virus is “inevitable” in India and the nation must be ready for it prematurely.
“Phase three is inevitable given the higher levels of circulating virus, but it is not clear on what time-scale this phase three will occur. We should be prepared for new waves,” he had stated.
India is at present witnessing a devastating second wave of Covid, which pushed the every day an infection numbers to above four.14 lakh on Friday whereas the loss of life toll rose by practically four,000.
In his earlier remarks, VijayRaghavan had stated that the virus has adopted a “hit and run lifestyle”.
